5W to Lobby on Behalf of Israeli Tourism

NEW YORK Israel’s Ministry of Tourism has hired 5W Public Relations to help change U.S. government policy in Washington, D.C.

The New York firm’s work on behalf of the Israeli ministry will focus on persuading the U.S. State Department to lift its travel warning to Americans planning visits to the Mid East country.

5W president Ronn Torossian said his company has been awarded a one-year contract by the ministry. While he would not disclose the budget for the contract, Torossian said it is in the six-figure range.

“Our goal is to raise awareness of the viability of Israel as a travel destination for Americans, realizing the importance of Israel as a religious, political and cultural destination,” said Torossian.

5W has formed a strategic partnership with travel public relations agency Geoffrey Weill Associates to help address the growing needs of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. 5W’s main focus will be on convincing Capitol Hill that the travel warning for Israel should be changed while Weill will concentrate on promoting tourism to Israel in general.
