Ringan Ledwidge, one of advertising’s most acclaimed directors, has died at age 50.

After studying visual design and communications, plus working as a photojournalist in the Middle East, Ledwidge became a director in 1999. In 2016, with director Daniel Kleinman and producer Johnnie Frankel, he co-founded Rattling Stick, which became one of the most successful production companies in the U.K. and later expanded to the U.S.

He made advertising that didn’t look or feel like advertising.
