4A’s, AMA Recognize Zehnder, Mayer

DALLAS Zehnder Communications has been named a finalist in the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ O’Toole Creative Excellence Awards, the shop said.

The New Orleans shop was nominated for its pro-bono TV spot for The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana; a print ad for Hilton New Orleans Riverside’s Kabby’s on the River; a component for the City of New Orleans Care Again campaign; and a billboard for Sewell Cadillac-Chevrolet.

In the category of agencies with less than $30 million in billings, Zehnder said it is one of only five finalists in the nationwide competition. The winner will be named at the 4A’s Management Conference in Miami Beach, Fla., on April 17.

Separately, Peter A. Mayer Advertising is a winner at this year’s national Effie Awards competition, sponsored by the American Marketing Association. The New Orleans shop said it won in the sporting goods category for its “Don’t you wish every day was game day?” campaign for the New Orleans Saints.

Mayer previously won an Effie for its Freeport-McMoRan work. Effies, which honor the most effective campaigns of the year, will be awarded to the client-agency teams in New York on June 8.
