NEW YORK — 415 has hired Jay Berry as creative director following a search that began in May with 500 applicants, the San Francisco i-shop said.

In the newly created post, Berry, 31, will manage the 10-person creative department and provide creative direction to such clients as Levi Strauss & Company and 3com. He will report to 415 founder and CEO Grace Stanat.

Most recently, Berry was for six months a creative director at the former Son Heavy Industries, a San Francisco-based interactive shop that worked on clients like PowerBar, Netscape and the Salt Lake Olympic Committee.
