$40 Mil. Midas Goes to DDB

CHICAGO Omnicom’s DDB has been named for the creative portion of Midas’ $40 million account following a review, the client said.

The agency here won the account over WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam, Chicago; Interpublic Group’s Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis and Chicago; independent Doner in Southfield, Mich., and Moroch Leo Burnett USA in Dallas.

Incumbent Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, was invited to defend the business but opted out of the competition, saying it no longer wanted to commit to keeping an office in Chicago near the client.

Aegis Group’s Carat USA continues to handle media chores for Midas.
