DALLAS Nokia has issued requests for proposals for its creative assignment, sources said.

The RFPs are due back by Dec. 1; a consultant is not involved, sources said.

The client confirmed that an agency review has begun and said incumbent The Richards Group was invited to defend but diclosed no other details.

The cellular telephone manufacturer spent about $35 million on domestic ads last year, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. Independent Richards in Dallas handles both creative and media chores.
