NEW YORK Ikea is conducting a review of its global media account, currently serviced by two WPP shops: Mediaedge:cia, which handles the business in the U.S, among other markets, and MediaCom.

The client’s estimated annual global ad spending is $300 million. Ikea spent $95 million in measured media in the U.S. alone last year, according to Nielsen.

Reps at both MEC and MediaCom confirmed the review has begun and said their shops would participate. Executives at Ikea could not be immediately reached for comment.

It was not clear how many other shops the client has reached out to, and no timetable for an agency selection could immediately be determined.
