It's a sad day for bored travelers and fans of pointless gadgetry. The beloved in-flight catalog SkyMall could soon disappear from seat back pockets everywhere.

The company behind SkyMall, Xhibit Corp., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Thursday according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The company's chief executive Scott Wiley attributed the filing to an increase in on-board Internet access.

SkyMall says roughly 90 percent of all domestic travelers have laid eyes on a a copy of the catalog.
