Viacom Digital Studios Partners with Twitter, Expands VidCon to London

Just six months after its creation, Viacom Digital Studios made its NewFronts debut Monday with an ambitious slate that included two dozen shows based on Viacom’s biggest networks for a variety of digital and social platforms, an expansion of its newly-purchased VidCon and content partnerships with Twitter and Snap, Inc. The new content slate includes: The Majah Hype Show, a sketch-comedy show about trending topics from Majah Hype for BET; You Up? With Nikki Glaser, a live daily morning show for Facebook Watch from Comedy Central; Cooking In The Crib With Snooki, hosted by the notorious party girl from MTV’s Jersey Shore on YouTube; and The JoJo & BowBow Show Show, a series of animated shorts from Nickelodeon starring Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa and her furry best friend BowBow. Viacom also announced that it will expand VidCon to London, adding to events that already take place in Southern California, Amsterdam and Melbourne. (THR)

Ahead of the NewFronts, MediaLink, in partnership with YouTube, had a panel discussion Monday morning to kick off the week of presentations. In the event room at Google’s NYC headquarters, the panelists discussed brand safety. The panelists also discussed the “gatekeepers” of the industry. (Adweek)
