Twitter CEO’s Hacked Account Sends Racist Tweets Before Being Secured

By Brad Pareso

The account of Twitter Inc chief executive Jack Dorsey was hacked on Friday afternoon, sending public tweets and retweets including racial slurs and curse words to 4 million followers before Twitter secured the account. (Reuters)

One of the first tweets sent from the hacked account was the N-word, and it was followed up by other crass tweets. About five minutes after the tweets were posted, they had been taken down. However, the account was still live. (THR)

Twitter confirmed the breach Friday, then said later in the day that “the account is now secure, and there is no indication that Twitter’s systems have been compromised.” (Deadline)
