Todd Boehly Named Interim CEO of HFPA

By Brad Pareso

Investor and philanthropist Todd Boehly has been appointed interim chief executive officer of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). He will lead the organization as it works to increase the diversity of its membership and institute a series of measures that are intended to reform its controversial practices. (Variety)

Boehly is already closely tied to the organization as his firm Eldridge owns production company MRC and Dick Clark Prods., producer of the Golden Globes. (THR)

The move comes as the group continues its promised reforms amid backlash of its lack of diversity and other issues. NBC in May canceled the 2022 Golden Globe Awards amid the HFPA controversy, and many individuals and groups have called the organization out since. (Deadline)
