The show returned with a new episode on Saturday, April 11, following an extended hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting production shutdowns. It was produced remotely while the cast and crew practice social distancing. (TV Guide)

That broadcast included a taped introduction by Tom Hanks, a musical performance by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, a Weekend Update segment, and a handful of comedic sketches. (Variety)

As was the case with the first remote episode, no host or musical guest is being announced beforehand, at least for now. (Vulture)

The April 11 episode drew a 4.6 Live+Same Day household rating in the 44 local metered markets and a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters. (Deadline)
