The judge rejected a wiretapping claim that was premised on allegations of malware placed on her computer, attempts to wipe her BlackBerry device, and surreptitious recording of women in the wardrobe department of the cable news network. (THR / THR, Esq.)

Tantaros alleged the surveillance by the cable news channel after she said its top executive sexually harassed her. In his ruling, Judge George B. Daniels of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said Tantaros’ complaint was based “primarily on speculation and conjecture.” (WSJ)

Daniels held that Tantaros had not shown that her computer was actually hacked, only that Fox News had the capability to monitor her computer. She also failed to show that Roger Ailes, the late former CEO of the network, had actually monitored her while she changed clothes. (Variety)
