Jenna Bush Hager Will Be the Next Co-Host of Today’s Fourth Hour

By Christine Zosche

Today show veteran Jenna Bush Hager received a nice promotion Tuesday. She has been named the next permanent co-host of Today’s fourth hour, and will begin her new gig in April. (TVNewser)

She replaces Kathie Lee Gifford, who announced that she would step down in April. (THR)

Gifford had served as co-host for 11 years before announcing her departure. Hager has been a correspondent on the show since 2009, and has regularly filled in for Kotb and Gifford during the 10 a.m. EST/PST hour. (USA Today)

NBC News’ move will cap off a period of transition for the Today franchise, which has placed new anchors in each of its main segments over the past 18 months. (Variety)
