Disney is the king of the box office. The company, which houses a half dozen studios under its film umbrella, has hauled in nearly $8 billion globally since January, and still has three more film releases before the end of the year. On Saturday, the company gave fans more to feast on. (CNBC)

At Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday, Marvel officially announced that Black Panther 2 will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2022. Director Ryan Coogler will return to the franchise. The first Black Panther film was a massive hit, and biggest solo superhero movie for Marvel in history. (Vox)

Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington has been confirmed to star in Marvel’s The Eternals. (Deadline)

Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey are among the cast starring in Pixar’s Soul, the animation studio’s most existential film yet. Pixar’s new creative head Pete Docter appeared at the D23 Expo on Saturday to share details of the studio’s summer release. (TheWrap)

Disney dropped a sneak peak of Frozen II at its annual D23 convention. Frozen was a phenomenon when it debuted back in 2013, becoming the highest-grossing animated film ever. (Time)
