FX Gives Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story a 3-Season Renewal

By Christine Zosche

As FX expands to a streaming platform this year, with FX on Hulu, the network is making sure its most popular series will continue to be a mainstay on its linear channel for the next three years. (Adweek)

The show, which finished its ’80s-slasher-themed ninth run with American Horror Story: 1984 in 2019, was previously greenlit for season 10, set to premiere this year. (EW)

The news arrives after creator Ryan Murphy hinted that the forthcoming 10th season could be the end of the road for the show after the prolific producer parted ways with his longtime home at 20th Century Fox TV, the now Disney-owned studio, and moved his overall deal to Netflix (in an eye-popping $300 million pact).
