Eternals Battles to $71 Million Opening, $161.7 Million Globally

Eternals scored the fourth-best domestic opening weekend for any movie during the pandemic era, sliding in behind Marvel’s own Black Widow ($80.3 million) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ($75.3 million) as well as Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($90 million). (Variety)

The last Marvel film to open to a lower tally was 2015′s Ant-Man, which took in $57.2 million during its domestic debut. (CNBC)

Dune earned $7.62 million in its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to $83.95 million in 17 days. No Time to Die earned $6.2 million in weekend five, bringing its domestic total up to $143.15 million. Sony’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage earned another $4.465 million, bringing its domestic total to $197 million. (Forbes)
