Austin Pirate Radio Station, Flagship for Alex Jones, Faces $15,000 Fine

A pirate radio station that serves as controversial host Alex Jones’ Austin flagship has been knocked off the city’s airwaves—at least temporarily—and the Federal Communications Commission has levied a $15,000 penalty that the station’s operators are refusing to pay. (Austin American-Statesman)

Liberty Radio stopped airing on the radio in December, but still streams online. The FCC is charging that the station was also illegally broadcasting on an FM wavelength. (The Hill)

The programming lineup includes The Alex Jones Show, The Vaccine Myth With Shawn Siegel, who has written that inoculations are a form of social coercion, and Power Hour Nation, a station whose tagline boasts “It’s All About the Truth.” (Deadline)
