AMC Networks Entertainment President Sarah Barnett Stepping Down

AMC Networks is looking for a new entertainment chief. (Adweek)

Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios, will leave the company after Labor Day. The departure is amicable, with Barnett saying in a statement that she wants to “follow my curiosity” to another field. (THR / Live Feed)

Barnett’s exit was unexpected. She was elevated to the top creative job at AMC Networks in November 2018 following the departure of Charles Collier, who left to become chief executive of entertainment for Fox, the company spun off from 21st Century Fox after the sale of most of its assets to Walt Disney Co. No immediate successor for her position is in place. In the interim, AMC Networks COO Ed Carroll will oversee the company’s entertainment networks. (Variety)
