Zumba Has the Answer to the Zombie Apocalypse

By Erik Oster

Should the zombie apocalypse come to pass, we now know how to reverse its effects: Zumba. The popular dance fitness regimen (or whatever you want to call it) released an in-house, Halloween-themed online spot, produced by Tristark Productions.

The four-minute “#ZumbaZombies Come Back To Life” opens with a group of zombies stumbling on a TV. When one of the zombies hits it, it goes from broadcasting static to a Zumba workout. AS the zombies continue with the workout their moves become less and less zombie-like and by the end of the routine the undead come back to life. As a concept, it’s not without a kind of goofy charm, with the implication that Zumba can rescue you from your boring routine. But the video drags on at least three minutes longer than it should, gradually morphing from the zombie theme into just watching people do Zumba (which is really, really boring). If somehow four minutes isn’t enough Zumba Zombies for you, there’s also a making-of video below.
