Zimmerman Reels in Captain D’s

Omnicom-owned, Fort Lauderdale-based agency Zimmerman won the Captain D’s Seafood account, beating out Mullen’s Winston-Salem, NC office in the finals of the review that was managed by Hasan + Co and took place right before the holidays.

According to the announce, Zimmerman will handle core strategy, creative and retail activation for 550 restaurants in 25 states and on military bases around the globe.

The account for the Nashville-based seafood chain was previously handled by Cali agency Goodness Mfg., who did not defend but whose “What You Get” campaign for Captain D’s sparked controversy and a legal threat from Red Lobster early last year.

Adweek meanwhile reports that Captain D’s account billings are estimated at $15 million.
