After discovering on social media that fans of the American lite lager brand were making it a part of their weddings, Busch is giving couples everywhere a chance to have an official Busch wedding.
Yes, as in sponsored by the beer brand. And who wouldn’t want that?
A campaign from M&C Saatchi promotes the contest, centered around an ad with Busch Guy introducing the proposal. Since he’s apparently now ordained to officiate weddings, one couple could even have their wedding vows presided over by Busch Guy himself. What could be more romantic than saying “I do” to an actor/spokesperson for a brand of cheap beer?
The lucky couple will also receive $25,000 from Busch, which may or may not be a greater draw. (That number is the average cost of a wedding in America, by the way.)
“We know Busch is beloved by our fans, but being featured in wedding photos and invited to the weddings themselves is an entirely other level,” Anheuser-Busch senior marketing director Daniel Blake said in a statement. “This new campaign is coming straight from the asks of our devoted community, and we can’t wait to see Busch Guy bring together one happy couple this summer.”
Couples in all 50 states can enter via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram by posting why they want to get married by #BuschGuy (probably because of the $25,000) and using the #BuschWeddings and #Contest hashtags, or by filling out an entry form at this link. Entries are open through May 31.
