WorkInProgress Hires Creative Duo From CPB to Lead Domino’s Account

By Kyle O'Brien

Independent agency WorkInProgress brought in a team of two creative directors to head up the big pizza account it won last year, hiring veterans on the brand from its former shop.

WorkInProgress hired Kelly McCormick and D’Arcy O’Neill to lead work on Domino’s. WorkInProgress won the Domino’s account late last year, ending the pizza chain’s 13-year relationship with CPB.

McCormick began her career at McCann New York in 2007, then went on to CPB Boulder, where she first worked with Domino’s, when she and O’Neill became partners. Together, McCormick and O’Neill crafted the iconic Ferris Bueller Tracker shot-for-shot remake, launched the first ever pizza wedding registry, and paved potholes in all 50 states. Their work helped to evolve the Domino’s rewards program, created pizza damage insurance, and allowed people to get pizza delivered to places without a physical address.

O’Neill began his career at Mother New York, followed by stints at Havas, Modernista! in Boston, and The Martin Agency in Richmond before landing at CPB.

The two said, in a statement: “It’s a rare opportunity to be a part of an all-star cast of creative advertisers who have worked on the brand’s biggest actions and successes both past and present, spanning over a decade,” McCormick and O’Neill said in a statement, referring to the founding team at WIP, which led the Domino’s team while at CPB prior to founding the agency in 2016.

“I had the privilege of working with Kelly and D’Arcy while at CPB years ago,” WorkInProgress CCO Matt Talbot added. “I’ve followed their successes from not very afar and am so excited to see the work that comes from our shared vision of creating bold, action-based work that generates true business results.”
