WONGDOODY Appoints Matt Burgess as CD

By Erik Oster

WONGDOODY appointed Matt Burgess to the position of creative director. He will work out of the agency’s Los Angeles office in conjunction with recently-promoted creative director Dennis Lee to lead WONGDOODY’s Air New Zealand, National University, and Cedars-Sinai accounts.

Burgess joins the agency from Olson in Minneapolis, where he has spent the past eight years serving in various positions including copywriter and, most recently, creative director. While with Olson he worked with brands including Capital One, Target, Yoplait, Green Giant and his alma mater, the University of Minnesota. Before joining Olson, he spent three years as a freelance creative and copywriter, helping to launch Best Buy’’s Geek Squad nationwide and also working with Campbull Mithun as a copywriter on brands such as Nature Valley, Burger King, H&R Block and the United Way.

“”We’’re thrilled that Matt is making the move to LA to join the WONGDOODY family,”” said WONGDOODY executive creative director Pam Fujimoto. “He’’s whip-smart and brings leadership, dedication, and enthusiasm that both our agency and clients will immediately benefit from.””
