With Nick Law Gone, Who Will Take Over for Bob Greenberg at R/GA?

By Erik Oster

R/GA vice chairman and global CCO Nick Law is leaving the agency to join Publicis as global CCO of Publicis Groupe and president of Publicis Communications, Adweek reported today. The move is effective as of May.

Law is a 17-year veteran of R/GA, helped launch its Portland office and was widely believed to be R/GA CEO Bob Greenberg‘s clear choice for his successor. With Law gone, so too is that (presumed) succession plan.

“I am incredibly grateful for all Nick has done for R/GA, our clients and our staff over the past 17 years,” Greenberg told Adweek. “Among many things, he leaves a legacy of developing some of the best talent in the industry.”

R/GA also parted ways with executive director, brand and marketing strategy Tim Maleeny, who rejoined Havas, as chief strategy officer, North America. Back in October, R/GA went through a series of layoffs in its New York headquarters, following a similar round of staffing reductions over the summer.
