Weird News Of The Day: Ad Exec Causes Bomb Scare

Rosalinda Baez earns $190,000-a-year and has homes in Manhattan and Texas. The blog Adomatica points out that she made some of that cash working at the shop, Schematic as a SVP. Her Linkedin profile also has her pulling a stint at TBWA.

The good life must have gone to her head because when she was blocked by a gate attendant from boarding JetBlue Flight 1061, Rosalinda reportedly said:

“What if I had a bomb in my bag? Well, I have a bomb in my bag, so are you guys going to turn the plane around cuz I need my bag.”

Okay. She could have been joking except that she went on to say that the Transportation Security Administration: “does not know how to do their f—— job because if it did TSA would not catch it and let it go through.”

As the bag in question was already aboard the flight, the entire plane was grounded in Virginia where 300 passengers were removed and the luggage searched. She denies making the statements, but has been arrested and then banned from flying aboard JetBlue until the criminal case is resolved. She is free on $200,000 bond.

“I’ve never been in any trouble in my life. Why would I say [there was a bomb]? It makes no sense. We have left the security of our country in the hands of people who are unqualified.”
