It’s been bugging us since Monday when we received a tip or two about Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Microsoft, who both became a bit closer after the JWT split, and might apparently be getting even closer according to this tip:
“Crispin just won a multi product holiday brand campaign from Microsoft-$300 million, launching in October. Agencies involved in the pitch: DeutschNY, Y&R, R/GA and CPB.”
In hard target search of every client, agency, henhouse and outhouse, we received this reply from Microsoft: “Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation.” We’ve also reached out to the Crispin camp, who are keeping as shut as Johnny Tightlips. We realize that with clients like Nike, Apple and MSFT, they keep a short leash on their agencies, so we know the score. Hell, we’re just waiting for the eventual shouting from the rooftops, especially from an agency that just recently lost something special. If anyone knows more, don’t hesitate to contact us at agencyspy at gmail dot com. To tide you over, here’s one of CP+B’s ads from May that they did for the Redmond, WA giant above.
