Following the confirmation that global CCO Oren Frank left MRM as of April 1, we’re hearing from multiple reliable sources that the NYC outfit cut staff across disciplines on Friday. The numbers we’re hearing lie in the range of 10-20 with “more layoffs to f0llow next week” according to spies (we’ve been told possibly four in the creative department alone). No word from the MRM camp as of yet, but we’re trying our best to confirm figures, etc. Stay tuned…
Update: The agency tells us the numbers are unfounded and that MRM is simply “aligning our staff with the type of work we have,” which includes a partnership with McCann on the recently retained U.S. Army account.
