Wait, Did Steve Nesle Just Land at Blast? (Update: Affirmative)

By Kiran Aditham

We’ve been hearing about this since around 11:45 in the AM today and now we’ve received what appears to be the memo confirming the new job of one Steve Nesle, who you may remember parted ways (or vice versa) with Deutsch New York after spending two years leading digital creative as EVP/ECD at the agency. Well, the creative exec seems to have resurfaced in a familiar role, joining Wunderman-owned digital network Blast Radius as ECD of its East Coast operations. We’re trying to get official confirmation from the agency including start date, but in the meantime, peep the aforementioned memo (we’re also trying to find out the author) after the jump. Update: Sources familiar with the matter have confirmed Nesle’s arrival at Blast. He started today. Phew.

“It is my pleasure to announce the arrival of our new ECD for the East, Steve Nesle.

Steve joins Blast Radius from Deutsch New York, where he most recently spearheaded digital at the agency. In two short years under his stewardship,  Deutsch received 5 FWAs, a mobile Lion, and was named “creative digital agency of the year” by OMMA Magazine. Steve is one of the first digital creative directors, having been the founding CD of the agency that became Digitas in the mid 90s. He later ran the creative department at Modem Media in SF and NY, and then helped to put Tribal DDB on the map with ground breaking work for Philips, Jose Cuervo and others. Through it all, Steve has won virtually every major creative award including gold at Cannes, One Show, LIA, and the Webbies.

We are thrilled to have Steve join us and look forward to getting him embedded into our accounts and teams in NY and Toronto.

Please join me in welcoming Steve to Blast Radius!”
