Smart Home Company Vivint Names Vitro as Its Creative AOR

By Erik Oster

Smart home company Vivint, which took over naming rights for the Utah Jazz’s home arena in Salt Lake City back in October (it’s now known as the Vivint Smart Home Arena), has appointed San Diego-based MDC Partners shop Vitro as its agency of record following a review. Vitro will be responsible for leading strategic communications planning and development for Vivint Smart Home’s full suite of products.

Vivint is an “industry leader” in the burgeoning smart home technology sector with over one million customers in the U.S. and Canada.

For Vitro, this win follows the agency being named creative agency of record for Caribou Coffee earlier this month. A month prior to that, the agency announced the opening of a new Austin office, poaching Jake Camozzi and Victor Camozzi from GSD&M to serve as its creative leaders.

“We are right at the beginning of the explosion of the smart home category and working with an agency to position our brand at the forefront is critical to our success,” said Viving Smart Home CMO Jeff Lyman. “We were specifically looking for a forward-thinking, agile agency partner who can put a strategic lens on our business, our consumer and our way forward. So we’re happy to announce that we found the perfect partner in Vitro.”

“Vivint Smart Home has an amazing story to tell and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with them as they share their vision for homes across America – making life simpler and more enjoyable through new technology,” added Vitro CEO Tom Sullivan.
