Twitter Plays Pivotal Role in Campbell Mithun’s Intern-Wrangling

By Kiran Aditham

Sure. Mike McKay’s own Twitter-based recruiting effort had higher stakes, but Campbell Mithun is putting the micro-blogging service to its own good use by hiring the “Lucky 13,” meaning the number of interns for summer 2011. Starting Feb. 13, the Minneapolis-based agency will launch a 13-day effort (get it?) that gives applicants 140 characters to “showcase their strengths…and social media moxie.” The 13 interns hired will work in creative (AD or CW), account management, tech and media. Here’s the one caveat: Applicants must be a college student with a graduation date between fall 2010 and summer 2012. Who knows, maybe they’ll even make a thrilling hip-hop video out of their whole experience. Go here for info.
