-While much of the world is concerned with social distancing, FCB Health Network company Area 23, on behalf of melanoma prevention advocates Mollie’s Fund, is educating people about “Solar Distancing” in a new animated ad.

The spot journeys through interstellar worlds where the sun is the enemy and Earth is the refuge. Sunburned lobsters line the cosmos, while strange solar systems, deadly meteor showers and bottomless wormholes try to harm them in polarizing ways. The ending reminds us that no amount of “solar distancing” can keep us safe, but sunscreen helps.

-Instead of heading to the pizza joint to play retro video games, Pizza Hut is bringing the pizza parlor to you. The chain is rolling out a series of limited-edition boxes with QR codes that lead to an augmented-reality Pac-Man game, which can be played on the maze printed on the packaging.

-Apple is out with a follow up to its popular “Bounce” spot from 2019. “Jump,” created by TBWA\Media Arts Lab, spotlights AirPods Pro and the product’s noise-canceling feature. It shows a man jumping through his neighborhood in a continuous game of double Dutch, as nearly anything with a line becomes a set of ropes to be jumped through. The ad is set to the track “Fallin Apart” by Australian artist Young Franco, featuring Pell and Denzel Curry.

-Netflix snatched a big batch of Oscar nominations, totaling 35, while Amazon Prime came in with 12.

Leslie Jones confronts her disheveled self from a year ago in a new Uber Eats ad, just in time for March Madness.

-Audio-based social media app Clubhouse has named former Netflix director of editorial and publishing Maya Watson as head of global marketing.

-Nike is paying tribute to mothers, calling them the “The Toughest Athletes” in a new spot from Wieden+Kennedy.

-Ad Age reports that former Ogilvy and Y&R creative chief Leslie Sims has joined Deloitte Digital as chief creative officer.

-Gatorade’s influential 1997 spot “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better,” starring Michael Jordan and Mia Hamm, has been updated with Usain Bolt and Abby Wambach.
