Traffic’s Mitsu Takeover

By Matt Van Hoven

More on the surprise move, that makes things a little less, well, surprising.

After some research and a light nap, to let things sink in, we learned that Tom Cordner started up Traffic soon after leaving his co-president position at JWT, where he was a lead on the Ford account &#151 also WPP’s biggest account.

Cordner is also responsible for the successful launch of Lexus in the US, when he was at Team One, which he also founded. Whew.

So with all the car prowess in one mind, the move is a lot less surprising, and as a friend pointed out, much less expensive. With Mitsu’s sales way the hell down over last year, save for the Galant, the prospects are endless.
