Todd Gurley Is a Sellout in the Best Way Possible: By Making Cat Videos for Hulu

By Doug Zanger

We all know that pet videos slay on the internet. Doggos? Fantastic. And kitties have had their day in the sun whether they are climbing overly-stressed out humans, scratching an animatronic Colonel Sanders or simply being fabulous felines.

In a new ad from Hulu, as part of its outstanding “Hulu Sellouts” campaign, NFL star Todd Gurley stars with his furry friend: cat videos. But this is no ordinary kitty. Mr. Hulu Has Live Sports (yes, that’s his name) is the star of the show with Gurley and reportedly has a “massive” following on his verified Instagram account (he only has 348 followers as of now, which would make him a micro-cat influencer, we guess).

Regardless, Mr. Hulu Has Live Sports is getting paid handsomely (we can guess that Gurley is getting some of this loot, too) much like the other athletes that fronted the campaign since its inception during NBA All-Star Weekend. So far the campaign has included the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team and NBA stars Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid and our personal favorite, Damian Lillard.

The newest ad leading to the upcoming NFL season was done by creative agency BFT (Big Family Table) and will run, along with the other four ads, through the end of the year.
