By Matt Van Hoven

Rebecca Fox it The Daily Beast’s first ever Director of Editorial Development & Operations and today she joined us to talk about the 8th anniversary of September 11, 2001. It’s a solemn, rainy day here in New York and well that’s fine by us.

Also discussed on the Menu was Twitter’s announcement that it will allow advertising. Rather, it will force ads upon you whether you like it or not! Here’s some terms and conditions:

“In consideration for Twitter granting you access to and use of the Services, you agree that Twitter and its third party providers and partners may place such advertising on the Services or in connection with the display of Content or information from the Services whether submitted by you or others.”

So, you may have no choice about it, which means the program would help Twitter and not you. But there is an upside to that: by dealing with advertisements, Twitter stays alive. Furthermore, let’s say an ad shows up on your favorite influencer’s feed &#151 at least you’ll know that whoever is behind that feed isn’t trying to benefit financially from your loyalty. Win win.

Last item: super rich former JWT Chairman James Patterson’s worth $150 million &#151 and that’s just from the 17 book deal he just signed with Hachette. Oy.
