Thursday Odds and Ends

Mass Appeal isn’t just a classic Gang Starr joint. It’s also a “micro-agency” that created this campaign for Bang & Olufsen’s B&O PLAY along with its production arm DECON. (The spot is long, but the twist is unexpected!)

-GoDaddy’s Super Bowl spot will be created by Bullish, the agency launched by Deutsch veterans Mike Duda and Brent Vartan at the start of the year.

Rich Siegel lists “50 Reasons Why Advertising in 2016 Can Eat a Bag of Haggis.”

-RED Interactive agency hired Max Miner, formerly associate creative director, experience design at R/GA, as director of customer experience strategy.

-San Francisco’s Cutwater hired Boomer Cruz and Derek Taylor as copywriters and Carrie Ammermann (formerly with BSSP and GS&P) as associate creative director.

-Facebook revealed a five-part plan to combat those “fake news” posts that are even less reliable than its ad metrics.

-Barber Martin of Richmond has a new radio campaign for Adolf Jewelers urging everyone to “Do It.” But what is “it?”

John Matejczyk is a classic dude. He also makes some ads.
