This Sultry Spot by Norway’s POL Has All the Juicy Food Porn You Need

By Patrick Coffee

So David Miami and Devour hit us with some olfactory stimulation during the Super Bowl and amusingly danced around using the word “porn.” They even created a “dial FOODPORN” hotline.

OK cool. But Norwegian agency POL took things in the opposite direction in a recent campaign by using food to promote porn … or something like that.

The work celebrates sex shop Kondomeriet, which just turned 30 years old. And it is quite sensuous.

That was some good Vivaldi.

The reason they used all those very well-shot food vignettes is because, even in Norway, sex companies can’t put images of their products in ads. And this spot really just highlights the hypocrisy of that dichotomy.

As the agency put it, “in order to get the message out and the commercial on air, we have to use metaphors, and let the audience make the connections in their own naughty minds.”

Now does anyone want a banana?
