The Seaweed Is Always Greener in HumanSeven’s Underwater Octopus Opus

By Patrick Coffee

We hope you’re in the mood for some somber long-form advertainment on a rainy Friday.

When last we heard from the fine French folks at HumanSeven, they were selling us a car in a roundabout via one bold soul’s extreme off-roading habit.

The next chapter in their short film series tells the tale of a particularly dextrous octopus with a fetish for flash.

They did go all-out on the Cousteau-style execution.

The point of this exercise is to demonstrate the resilience of the product, which happens to be called Octopus as well, in “real life conditions” that we hope to avoid for the rest of our time on earth. Because the bends is quite frightening.

From the press release:

Watches is a new superior French brand of dive watches in the premium category whilst remaining accessible. A waterproof range from 300m to 1000m, OCTOPUS watches are made in limited quantities in Switzerland, the home country of watchmaking.

In the ocean, whether you are a professional or not, one needs to be able to rely on one’s equipment. In the film the “Octopustore” the main idea is therefore to put the watches to the test in order to prove their reliability.

The cephalopod in question is a bit like those union-free souls filling Amazon orders in warehouses across the country while they wait for arthritis to set in. His workplace might just be a little bit safer.
