The Ad Industry Now Has Its Very Own CBD Oil

This one goes out to all of you who will be burning the midnight oil this weekend … and could maybe use some CBD oil (see what we did there?) to get you through.

Kansas City agency Bernstein-Rein has whipped up a limited batch of CBD oil that’s aptly called ‘It’s Only Advertising’ to remind us all that we should stop getting our panties in a bunch over ads. Or content. Or storytelling. Whatever you want to call it.

“We know we sometimes take this business—and ourselves—too seriously,” Dawn Ridge, svp and group account director at Bernstein-Rein, said. “It is that truth—we are in a field that could benefit from more self-care—which prompted It’s Only Advertising CBD.”

The oil (which as far as we know, was only sent to a few select ad execs and industry press) was created to announce Bernstein-Rein being named brand strategy and creative AOR for Bluebird Botanicals, a hemp extracts and CBD oil company.

It might not actually be for sale, but we like the sentiment behind it. So as we head into the weekend, try to get out of the office at a reasonable hour today and stop circling back. The emails will still be there on Monday.

Remember, it’s only advertising.
