The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Launches Review

By Erik Oster

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the official sales and marketing organization promoting Miami and The Beaches, has launched a review encompassing advertising, marketing, digital support, website development and website advertising sales.

Turkel has served as lead agency for The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau  over twenty years and will presumably defend in the review, which is likely mandatory. The client has shown no sign of moving away from the agency in past mandatory reviews and seems to be pleased with Turkel’s work. Critical Mass, who the client named digital agency of record in 2012, will likely defend as well. While it seems likely that Turkel and Critical Mass will remain with the client, it’s possible The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau will go with an outside agency for website development and website advertising sales.

“We are so proud of our team and agency partners who have contributed to our record-breaking travel and tourism numbers over the last several years,” said president and CEO William D. Talbert, III. “Everyone has worked tirelessly to ensure business and leisure travelers are aware of the evolution our destination is undergoing, and are enticed to visit Greater Miami and The Beaches all year long. From increased visitors to our website and social channels to filling up hotels, restaurants, cultural attractions, neighborhoods and meeting venues, the momentum we’ve built is strong. We look forward to continuing to raise our own bar as we develop marketing programs that have a favorable impact on the destination.”
