The summer internship in advertising is one of those rites of passage that veterans in the biz look at with equal parts wistfulness and horror. While friends were working down the Jersey Shore (that’s correct sentence structure, by the way), some of us were cutting vellum and writing copy for radio ads. And, in some cases—alright, most cases—these agency internships meant no pay. But COLLEGE CREDIT, right?!
Thankfully, those kinds of summer agency intern gigs are (hopefully) gone and replaced with those that are, if not wildly profitable, then at least something that will help young talent get a head start on a career in the agency world.
