Thanks to Damn Irene, Big Ad Gig Extends Deadline

Apparently the folks behind the 2011 installment of the Big Ad Gig received “several” requests for a deadline extension thanks to Hurricane Irene-related issues (flooding, power outages, etc.) so in turn, they’ve kindly obliged (at least this is their story). The BAG, which this year is awarding 30-day paid freelance gigs at Atmosphere Proximity, Facebook, Ogilvy, CP+B and Martin Agency, is now giving those of you hopefuls until Sept. 9th to “create your own video reenactment of a moment in advertising history.” Public voting will follow on Facebook from 9/12-9/16.

According to those familiar with the matter, close to 100 have registered for the competition thus far (to be fair, this number looks better on paper than the one from 2009).
