TBWA\Media Arts Lab Taps Lu Borges as Chief Communications Officer

The TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the bespoke agency for Apple, has hired Lu Borges as its new chief communications officer. Based at the agency’s Los Angeles headquarters, Borges will assume a global role overseeing all communications for the agency’s seven hubs worldwide.

Borges will report to CEO Katrien De Bauw, and will lead teams responsible for internal and external communications.

With a global perspective cultivated in Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, and the U.S., Borges will oversee Media Arts Lab’s global communications, reputation management, social presence, awards and events in her new role.

“Lu is sharp, talented, kind, and unafraid, and her understanding of creativity and culture will undoubtedly add great value for our client and elevate our agency,” said De Bauw in a statement.

Borges, now part of Media Arts Lab’s executive team, brings nearly two decades of creative agency experience, most recently as head of brand and communications at MullenLowe U.S. She helped lead the agency’s global rebrand, revamping its “Challenger Octopus” logo to a modern, abstract, and fluid identity.

In her career Borges has helped shape, define and fuel the reputation of Australia’s most effective and creative agency, BMF, and  Spanish agency, Shackleton, now Accenture Song.
