TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. Signs New Managing Director

By Patrick Coffee

We don’t have much in the way of backstory at the moment, but TBWA\Chiat\Day has hired Andrew Dauska as its newest managing director in Los Angeles.

Dauska joins the Omnicom agency from Wunderman, where he served as SVP/client services director for more than two years. While there, he led the shop’s Minneapolis headquarters while also serving its charter client Best Buy (whose corporate headquarters happens to be located nearby).

In his new role (starting today), Dauska will be running the Nissan account, which recently scored an Emmy nomination for “With Dad.” Prior to joining Wunderman, he spent several years in accounts roles at Carmichael Lynch, Campbell Mithun and Leo Burnett Chicago (where he worked on AllState, GM and Delta).

TBWA tells us that Dauska won’t be replacing anyone. Peter Bracegirdle, a TBWA veteran who has been an MD in L.A. since May, will remain with the agency overseeing other accounts.

Bracegirdle spent a majority of his career with the TBWA organization, starting as a business lead on the Playstation Europe account in London. He joined the West Coast office in 2009 as a global MD on the Mars Petcare and Activision accounts and then became MD on the Nissan Americas business, when he led all the Omnicom teams serving the client across two continents.

In expanding to its local managing director lineup, TBWA\Chiat\Day follows CP+B, which recently named co-MDs for both its Boulder and L.A. offices.

The agency did not specify the accounts on which Bracegirdle will work moving forward. Its L.A. office currently employs “several” MDs, with each focusing on different clients.
