TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. Appoints Linda Knight as ECD

By Erik Oster

TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A. appointed industry veteran Linda Knight as executive creative director. In the position, Knight will work across several agency accounts including Miller Lite and, along with fellow executive creative directors Fabio Costa and Brent Anderson, will report to chief creative officer Stephen Butler

After beginning her advertising career in Australia, Knight was recruited by Dan Wieden and Susan Hoffman as one of W+K’s first international hires. She spent five years as an art director for W+K Portland, beginning in 1994, before making the move to W+K Amsterdam as a copywriter. She spent four years in that position before leaving to go freelance in 2003. For over twelve years, Knight has worked as a freelance creative director and copywriter. During that time she’s worked with agencies including R/GA, TBWA\Chiat\Day, TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Ogilvy and Saatchi & Saatchi. Over the course of her career, she has worked with such high profile clients as Nike, Apple, Dove, adidas, Pepsi, Gatorade, ESPN and Coca-Cola. She has also completed the “sports trifecta” of having created campaigns for the Super Bowl, World Cup and Olympics.

“Linda is one of the most skillful and sought-after creative minds in our business, and we feel extremely privileged to have her join our creative leadership team,” said Butler. “Her dynamic personality and breadth of experience will no doubt add extra strength to both out creative product and our culture.”
