Merkley+Partners hired Tara Nolan as its new director of business development.

She will take over primary responsibility for business development of the agency and join its leadership team, while Rob Moorman, who spent the last decade as chief marketing officer, will remain as consultant for the business.

“After an exhaustive search we are thrilled to welcome Tara on board,” Merkley+Partners CEO Alex Gellert said in a statement. “Her personality combined with her proven ability to navigate integrated agencies is a perfect fit for us, and exactly what we need to drive growth and elevate our brand.”

“Joining the Merkley+Partners team was an easy decision – the chemistry amongst the talent is evident, and our shared ambition to grow the agency business and brand offers an exciting opportunity,” Nolan added. “Rob’s current association with the company is also a unique asset for us to have accessible.”

Nolan joins the agency after a freelancing stint, following two years as director, global brand and business development for MullenLowe. Before joining MullenLowe, she spent three years with PHD, most recently as director, marketing and communications.

The hire follows the promotion of agency veteran Scott Gelber to president in July.
