Sherri Chambers Returns to JWT New York as Chief Marketing Officer

Sherri Chambers has returned to JWT New York as the agency’s chief marketing officer, tasked with leading growth strategy while reporting to JWT New York CEO Lynn Power.

“Sherri has an incredible drive, a strategic mind and an understanding of the J. Walter Thompson New York culture,” Power said in a statement. “Her knowledge of the agency combined with her breadth and expertise within the industry, makes her an invaluable asset.”

Chambers arrives at JWT from co: collective, where she spent the past six months as a consultant. Prior to that she was with The Barbarian Group, where she spent over two years as head of account management, working with clients including Google, GE, IBM, KIND and PepsiCo. Before that she spent nearly a year with JWT New York as global business director for the agency’s Google account. That followed nearly two and a half years as group business director for 72andSunny and six and a half years as business director with StrawberryFrog before that.

“It’s great to be back,” Chambers said. “I look forward to working with the impressive team that Lynn and Brent have assembled and to hit the ground running.”

Also joining JWT New York this week is executive creative director Ian MacKellar. MacKellar arrives from Ogilvy Toronto, where he has served as chief creative officer since October of 2011. Before Ogilvy Toronto he spent around a year and a half as senior vice president, creative director with Bensimon Byrne. That followed a dozen years with BBDO Canada, most recently serving as executive vice president, executive creative director.

MacKellar’s appointment follows the arrival of creative director Alejandro Pere from Energy BBDO at the end of last year.
