Sean Lackey Returns to Droga5 as Chief Marketing Officer

Droga5 welcomed Sean Lackey back to the agency as chief marketing officer this week.

Lackey fills a vacancy left by the departure of Chris Wollen, who left after six years last December to lead marketing for electric automotive company Rivian.

Now Lackey will be responsible for driving growth strategy, from capabilities to business development and agency expansion. He reports directly to global CEO Sarah Thompson.

“Sean is part of the Droga5 family, and when the position became available, we instantly thought of him. The multidisciplinary network experience he’s gained during his time at McCann along with his tenacity and energy for forging new relationships and identifying opportunities for the agency are invaluable skills,” Thompson said. “We are excited to welcome him back and look forward to many more successes with his addition to the agency’s leadership team.”

Lackey arrives from McCann, where he spent nearly a year and a half as chief growth officer for North America.

Before joining the IPG network, he spent over four years with Droga5 leading business development. Prior to his first stint with Droga5 he was with BBDO for five years, working on account management with clients including Pizza Hut, Motorola and Monster.com and then moving into business development.
