Santa Gets Fit in New, Extended M/H VCCP Audi Spot by ‘I, Tonya’ Director

By Patrick Coffee

Every man reaches a point in his life when he chooses to rethink certain choices like the decision to take another cookie.

Hinter Claus is having a December to remember in this new, very long, dare we say cinematic Audi ad from M/H VCCP (cut the Muh-Tay-Zik but more syllables, please).

The narrative follows St. Nick’s moment of introspection inspired, of course, by a brief side-by-side comparison of his expanding gut and the all-new Audi RS 5 Sportback.

One can understand why he’s inspired to turn things around a bit given that he is approximately 17 centuries old.

That was quite thorough.

The release doesn’t tell us much beyond the fact that the model in question “offers the ideal balance of high design, functionality, and track-worthy driving dynamics,” which is obvious!

We would note that this one was directed by Craig Gillespie of I, Tonya fame, as was W+K’s latest work for Thursday Night Football.

Also, though the spot is online-only, it’s the most broadcast-like of M/H’s Audi campaign’s we’ve seen so far. No word on any changes in Audi’s agency lineup; VB&P is their longtime creative AOR.
