Samsung Mobile has selected Wunderman Thompson as its social media agency of record, following a review launched six to eight weeks ago, a source with direct knowledge of the process confirmed to AgencySpy.
Edelman formerly handled both digital and social media duties for Samsung Mobile and continues its relationship with the brand in other capacities.
“Edelman is proud to continue our 30-year global relationship with Samsung in multiple geographies and business units all over the world. However, we do not comment on specific aspects of that relationship,” an Edelman spokesperson said in a statement.
Wunderman Thompson declined to comment. Samsung has yet to respond to a request for comment.
Samsung spends around $10 million on social for Samsung Mobile, according to a source with knowledge of the account.
Back in February, WPP integrated salesforce partner and digital marketing agency Pierry into Wunderman Thompson, following similar moves with Mirum, iStrategyLabs and Possible in North America. Wunderman Thompson appointed Bas Korsten and Daniel Bonner as global chief creative officers last November.
